Chris and Kate began playing music together when they were 15 and 16. They still do. Their first musical endeavour as a duo after parting ways with the Bourbon Tabernacle Choir, Other People’s Heavens was originally released in 1997. Leaving their native Toronto for Brooklyn and New Jersey in the 1990s and 2000s, they entered a period of intense creative growth, touring extensively and releasing several vital, now hard-to-find independent albums.
